1982 karts at Quyon
Yes, believe it or not, this started out as a silent film! This race is at the kart track in Quyon, Quebec, about 1981-1982.
The track was opened in 1977 and the Quyon Racing Club used the track for many years for it’s karting championship. It has been expanded significantly over the years and still hosts races today as Le Circuit Quyon.
In this film (originally shot on Super8 film – so no sound) all the karts are two-stroke – some McCulloch, most Yamaha – which gave you a pretty good kick in the pants when you put your foot down. Lots of fun.
Drivers include Graeme Peppler, David Elliott, Fred Zufelt, Adam Bennett, and Tom Chapman from NY state.
It’s a time machine blast from the past!
